Strides Distance Calculator App Directions

Strides Distance Calculator App calculates customised distances according to jump types, use of jumps, horse size, jump heights and ground slope.

Strides Distance Calculator calculates a recommended distance between two fences after each dropbox selection. Continue to select each parameter in the dropboxes until it best describes the Line that is getting set up.

Jump 1 - Type of jump at the beginning of the line. Choices include

  • Vertical
  • Oxer
  • Triple
  • Wall
  • Pole
  • Cross
Jump 1 default selection is a vertical

Jump 2 - Type of jump at the end of the line. Choices include

  • Vertical
  • Oxer
  • Triple
  • Wall
  • Pole
  • Cross
Jump 2 default selection is a vertical

Use - Use is the purpose you are using this line. Competition distances are usually set longer than distances set for schooling.

  • Jumping Round
  • Schooling Exercise
  • From Trot
Use default selection is Jumping Round

Horse Size - Size of horses that the line is getting set for

  • Horse
  • Pony (large)
  • Pony (medium)
  • Pony (small)
Horse Size default selection is Horse. If you are setting a distance for horses of different sizes, it is recommended to the largest horse/pony size jumping the line.

1st Fence Height - Height of fence in metres at the beginning of the Line

  • Minimum height - "<0.50m"
  • Maximum height - ">1.50m"
1st Fence default selection is 1.10m.

2nd Fence Height - Height of fence in metres at the end of the Line

  • Minimum height - "<0.50m"
  • Maximum height - ">1.50m"
2nd Fence default selection is 1.10m. 2nd Fence height matches the 1st fence height when the 1st fence height is selected.

Ground Slope - Slope of the ground that the Line is set on

  • Flat
  • Downhill
  • Uphill
2nd Fence default selection is 1.10m. 2nd Fence height matches the 1st fence height when the 1st fence height is selected.
